TANGIPAHOA HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION GOLF TOURNAMENT
GENERATES SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SOUTHEASTERN
The Tangipahoa Home Builders Association recently held its 13th Annual Golf Tournament at Carter Plantation. A portion of the Tournament’s proceeds will be used to give scholarships to deserving Southeastern LA University students.
The THBA began awarding $1,000 scholarships to students at Southeastern in 1996. To date, almost $50,000 in scholarships has been presented to students who are either financially needy or demonstrated scholastic excellence with a 3.5 or better GPA. Scholarships will be awarded for the Spring 2010 semester. Applications and details will be available at the beginning of November. Funds for these scholarships come from the Association’s Annual Golf Tournament. In a year when asking for money was particularly difficult, THBA members and supporters really stepped up to the plate. The Tournament was a huge success with 95 golfers competing and many others sponsoring.

Qualifications for the Scholarship are:
Full-time Student at Southeastern LA University
Minimum 2.5 GPA for Financial Award
Minimum 3.5 GPA for Scholastic Award
